To meet growing demand in the transportation industry PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers developed OnFlex™ TPE film grades for automotive interior applications such as instrument panels and door panels. These highly engineered thermoplastic polyurethane compounds incorporate a breakthrough technology that both meet stringent performance requirements as well as superior aesthetics: understated matte finish, durable surface, leather-like feel, low odor and excellent color retention. Adding to their advantages, OnFlex™ U TPE film grades can be extruded and calendared more easily than traditional pure thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs).

OnFlex™ U TPE Film Grades for Transportation Interiors
All three products deliver a matte appearance with a gloss level of 6 according to ISO 868; excellent scratch and abrasion resistance from 35mm³ abrasion loss (according to DIN 53 516) and low fogging and odor. The latter were achieved using special low-volatile additive chemistries. They offer outstanding mechanical properties, including high tensile strength, elongation and tear resistance.
In addition to meeting the demanding performance requirements necessary for highly specialized automotive materials, OnFlex™ U TPE film grades surpass existing automotive interior technologies in aesthetics and processability. They offer higher gloss, a pleasing touch and superior processability compared to traditional materials.
